In the beginning of June 2012, Christoph Finkel went to Bärgündeletal in the Allgäuer Alps, Germany to take care of a 200 year old mountain maple that earlier this spring got struck from a great avalanche. Photo: Angelica Finkel

The tree grew on 1700 m but had fallen down to 1500 m when Christoph found it. The pieces were big and heavy and had to be rolled down the steep hill before they could be loaded on the trailer. Photo: Angelica Finkel
